Eve

Eve, the frequent visitor of mine,
Or am I the one who visits you?
Share, where lies that thin pale line
Between reality and dreams?
Do you remember how we met
In sacred Arctic caves of green?
Or crystal palaces on Pluto?
The places neither thought, nor seen?
All of the corners that were home
Made alien to me;
All that is refracted
Through sleeves and passages
Of what detects itself beneath
The mind;
In spots and lights
Continues the journey
Of all nights:
Share, how do I reach you
Without falling out of sight,
With your grace and looming scattered
Across the fields and misty banks,
The massive windows of quartzite,
The stairs that twist and knot themselves,
Leaving me deceived and frightened?
I still roam the lands for you,
Keep making sure you do exist,
I check my notes and look for signs,
And yet, you run from me;
Am I just lagging, never having time?
Maybe you're the dream itself?
Or Sandman's cunning dust and lies?
Who robs myself of rest in livid visions?
Eve, the long-awaited friend of mine,
Did I create you and now you're lost?
Or maybe you created me?
